Seasons In The Sun 的法文原唱，由著名詩人作曲家 寫於1961年。1964年被填上英文歌詞，定名為“Seasons In The Sun”，但直到1973年才被加拿大歌手 Terry Jacks 重新翻唱並在加拿大和美國獲得了前所未有的成功。

這是一首面臨死亡的人的遺囑詩，向他一生和自己分享歡樂悲傷的愛人朋友甚至情敵道別，囑咐他們照顧好自己的妻子…… 就在73年英文翻唱推出之前，Jacques Brel 在他歌唱生涯巔峯之時宣佈退休，全球歌迷震驚了，但詩人沒有給出任何解釋。之後平靜的六年，Jacques Brel 和癌症做着最後的鬥爭，終於不幸在1978年10月9日被病魔吞噬。

讓人不禁想起他生前的這首《垂死者》。 三個人，我們姑且稱他們為A、B、C。

在50年代的法國鄉村，他們是同一所高中的同學。A和C是從小一起長大的、最要好的朋友，B是漂亮的女孩。

通常在這種故事裏，我們很容易想象發生了什麼事情，A和C同時愛上了B。A是那種很陽光、很樂觀、很拉 風的男孩，是學校的運動明星，是很多情竇初開的少女仰慕的對象。

生活對於A來説充滿的只是快樂和單純。而C害羞、內斂，畫得一手好畫。

早在A和B相愛之前，C已經默默的愛了B很久，但是沒有人知道。這份愛被藏在心底，直到畢業後A參軍、C成為一名木匠，直到戰後A返回家鄉和B結婚，直到婚後A找到工作當上一名貨車司機…… A 經常離家工作很長時間，B打理着外婆留下的鄉村雜貨店，有太多的事情需要男人的幫忙，C就這樣擔負起了照顧年輕的母女的責任。

天長日久，大家都想象得到的事情就那樣發生了。A樂觀的天性加上對妻子的愛、對摯友的信任。
