邀请函的基本内容应包括以下四点：

1、留学身份---需要在邀请函中明确指出留学的身份。

2、起讫时间和留学期限---需要在邀请函中写明留学时间为从xxxx年x月到xxxx年x月，共x月。

3、学费/费用情况---说明学费、费用的支付情况。

4、说明留学/访问的目的及留学的专业

以上四项是一份完整的邀请函需要具备的四项基本内容，具体地，请同学们一定要仔细地查询“中国留学网” 中各个国家办理签证及其他公派留学相关手续时对邀请函的具体要求，不符合有关要求的，办理签证时外国使馆将不接受受理。

2.邀请函内容：1）首行居中标明邀请函字样.2）虽然邀请函是发给个人的，但最终是要交给签证官查阅的，所以，在首行称谓上最好写尊敬的先生们/女士们：3）正文内容大致包含以下几点：邀请方详细信息.包括：邀请人姓名，有效证件号（如身份证号或护照号等），公司或个人的详细地址，电话，传真.被邀请人详细信息.具体要求同上.此次邀请的理由.邀请的具体时间段（从某年某月某日起，至某年某月某日止）.个别国家还要求提供邀请期内的具体行程.被邀请人在旅行期间的费用承担.需要在邀请函中明确注明：此次旅行期间的所有费用，包括各项旅行费用和旅行期间的保险费用，由谁承担.如是邀请方承担的话，则需要在提交签证材料的时候一并提供可以证明的相关书面材料。

我的建议： 如果你是英国的留学生，你首先需要把你的录取通知书，账单和缴费证明原件出示， 如果已经接近毕业并且原件已经遗失，有复印件也可以.然后就是去你学校那里开一份在学证明兼邀请函.你看看你的邀请函里有没有包括你夫人的姓名，护照号码，出生年月日，到达和离开时间等内容，比较重要.其实您本人写邀请函的重要性不大， 主要是看学校那边的邀请函.您可以在签证表格上清楚写明资料，并注意在提交的资料里面要包括：结婚证书（证明关系）， 房产证（证明国内有固定的资产），妻子的工作证明（证明国内有固定工作-请注意，在妻子的工作证明里面也要提到工作单位了解员工准备出国探亲，时间段，并证明她回国后会 继续在单位工作） 您妻子在英国期间的住宿地点，如果是宾馆的话要BOOK HOTEL然后提供HOTEL的地址和电话， FLIGHT DETAILS。
